How To Find My Skin Type

Basic skin care starts from knowing your skin type. Most of the people have difficulty or some kind of confusion in knowing what is their true skin type. The traditional method of analyzing the skin type has been to know the skin type by the T-Zone.

T-Zone area is area of the face where we can make a T on the face, i.e. forehead and down the nose, lips and chin.

If the T-Zone is oily, normal or mostly dry then that is your dominant skin type. I had difficulty in understanding how much oil in the skin is considered oily skin type and so forth.

One of the other method is to closely examine the skin pores and their size, if you have bigger pores than you have oily skin, smaller pores means less oily and skin type is normal to dry.

Answering a dozen or so questions is the most challenging method of determining the skin type specially for me, I do not like this method, but this method also have been helpful in finding the skin type.

The easiest way to way find the skin type I have found is by using Skin Type Indicator sampler cards, there are very easy to use. Skin type indicator sampler card is very much like a greeting card, or it is a two fold card, on one side is the method of using the sampler card, and on the other side are two peel off tabs and below them a pattern to match the skin type.

You just peel off the first tab and put it on your forehead for five seconds and the other one on the cheeks again for five seconds. After dabbing the tabs on the face the tabs get the black dots and now is the time to match the pattern with the oil, normal and dry pattern sample.

The pattern of your tab which matches with the given pattern is your skin type.

One thing I will like to mention is that this works with the makeup on also, but for the optimum result I will suggest you clean your face and use the skin type indicator sampler card before the makeup.
